10. UCLA upset by CS Fullerton 11-5
WP Jasmine Antunez. LP Ally Carda. The same day the Bruins cracked the top 10 for the first time this season, their ten-game winning streak was snapped by the unranked Titans. CSF racked 11 hits off Carda. Tsuchiyama doubled and scored on Crawford’s sing;e in the CSF 1st. Ybarra’s 2-run homer top 3rd was matched in the bottom by Hall’s 2-run homer; UCLA tied two batters later on Moeai’s single. After Carter’s 2-run single, Hall relieved Carda, but CSF scored twice more to lead 7-3. UCLA narrowed that margin with 2 runs bottom 4th. Back to Carda. CSF tacked on 3 more runs in the 5th and another in the 7th for the final margin. The Titans racked 13 hits. Ten runs were charged to Carda.

Melissa Davin scored the first run and drove in two more and Ellen Renfroe and Ivy Renfroe combined for eight strikeouts in a shutout as No. 7/9 Tennessee took a 6-0 victory over Lipscomb in its home opener on Tuesday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. The Lady Vols (14-2) scored two runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to cruise past the Bison (7-7) and win their 13th straight home opener. The win also marked Tennessee’s 76th straight win over an in-state opponent and Ralph Weekly and Karen Weekly improved to 71-0 against in-state foes as UT’s co-head coaches.
