GAME NOTES
Irish Drop Two.   Notre Dame trsiled UNLV 1-0 into bottom 7th, with 2 out, Miller walked, Torres in to run; Koerner tripled to tie the score.  UNLV left 2 on, top 8th.  Irish had winning run on 3rd, one out, but couldn’t score.  Two out, top 9th, Emerson jacked 2 run homer.  Stuher singled ina run for the Irish but ND left one on base.  WP Ikuveti,  KO Winter.  Earlier, Notre Dame lost 5-2 to CharlestonSouthern.  WP Dowdy.  LP O’Donnell.  CSUd led 5-1 after three.

Illinois State 5, Michigan 1.  WP Birch, 2H, 7K.  Top 2nd, Lane homered for UM.  B3: bases loaded; Kay singled, 3 runs scored on throwing error.  Wagner relieved for UM.  Bradley 2-run double; Canopy rbi single.

Arizona 8, College of Charleston 0 (5).  Two story lines: Babcock hurled a no-hitter. Del Ponte slugged three 2-run doubles.  T1: Hodgson drew a walk, the only mar on Babcock’s day.  B3: Del Ponte, who hit a 2-run double in the 1st, hit another; Pendley jacked a 3-run homer.  B4:: Del Ponte hit her third 2-run double.  B5: Kirker rbi single.

Georgia 5, Mississippi State 0.  Georgia improved to 21-3, WP Arevalo, 9K.  Bulldogs scored 3 in 2nd,Sito doubled, to 3rd on wild pitch, Goulder rbi single.  Goergia loaded bases off LP Vry; Swafford drew rbi walk; Griffin drove in 2 runs with a triple.Georgia scored single runs in the 3rd and 7th.

 UCLA wins Two.  The Bruins downed Pitt 5-3.  WP Carda (5in); LP King; S Hall.  Bruins racked 5 runs bottom 2nd.  Camuso singled, Yudin sac; Fox reached on error at short; Carda rbi single; Snow rbi on fielder’s choice; Carda scored on error; Schroeder walked; Harrison out; Larosa 2-run double.  Pitt scored onerror at short in the 4th; scored on King’s 2-run single in 5th.  UCLA 2, Utah State 0. Again, the Bruins prospered with a combo of Carda (5in) and Hall.  Carda yielded one hit, a 2-out single by Thomsen in the 4th.  UCLA scored in 2nd on Camuso rbi double, and in 4th on Camuso home run.

Oklahoma sweeps Indiana.  Game I 4-1.  WP Keilani Ricketts. LP Meaghan Murphy.  Jessica Shults 2 homeruns.  Bottom 3rd: Shultz 2-run homer, Ricketts solo shot.  Top 4th: Berenton scored for Indiana on Murphy single.  Bottom 5th: Shults led off with solo homer.  Game 2: 12-1.  Michelle Gascoigne , 3H, 8K.  LP Lora Olson.  B2:  After Gascoigne struck out side in top, OU scored two.  Chamberlain homered; Williams singled, later stole home on double steal.  Top 3: Brannon scored on Saucedo single.  B#: one out, Shults homered, Chamberlain followed with 2-run shot.  The Sooners sealed the deal with 7 runs in the 4th.  Henson 2 run homer; Sampson grand slam.

 Washington 12, North Dakota 4.  WP Kasey Stanchek.  Huskies scored 11 runs in 2nd, including Shawna Wright’s first career grand slam.

 California 9, Purdue 1.  WP Jolene Henderson.  Danielle Henderson homered.

Cal 8, Fresno State 5.  Cal was leading 8-1 into bottom 7th when Bulldogs scored four.

Stanford 10, Cal Poly 0 (5).  WP Nyree White.  LP Rebecca Patton.Jenna Rich hit 2-run triple in 3rd, 3-run homer in 6-run 4th, amd Harrison had 2-run single.

Stanford 7, San Diego State 2.  Nyree White won her second game of the day.Cardinal scored 5 runs in 4th: inclluding 2 by Rich.

Alabama 12, Kentucky 2 (6).  Jackie Traina not only pitched the win, she belted 2 homers.  Chanda Bell took the loss.  Bama improved to 21-0, by scoring every innings after the 1st, including 4 in the 4th, and 5 in the 6th.  Braud 2-run double, Fenton 2-run homer.
