#2 Arizona State def #10 Texas 3-0
WP Escobedo 3H, 13K.  LP Blaire Luna 3h, 9K.  With both starters throwing bullets, there were only six hits in the game, and no scoring intil top 5th when ASU ‘s Kethcum scored on a double by Johnson.  Top 6th: Spiel walked; Kemp doubled; Parlich reached on a fielder’s choice, Spiel scoring.  Kemp scored on Ketchum’s rbi groundout. Texas drew two walks in the 7th but couldn’t score.  Yhe Horns had 2 on, 1 out, in the 3rd but Escobedo struck out the next two batters.

#2 Arizona State def Cal State Fullerton 9-0
WP Mackenzie Popeacue.  LP Desiree Ybarra.  Sun Devils amassed 13 hits, led 6-0 when they scored 3 top 7th.  Johnson was 3-5, 3rbi and a homerun and triple. Coyle was also 3-5, 2 rbi.

#4 California vs #23 Hawaii (midnight ET)

#14 Michigan upset #16 Washington 6-1 at the Garman
WP Sara Driesenga.  LP Kaitlin Inglesby.  Romero hit a 2-out homer to put the Wolverines on top in the 1st.  UM loaded the bases top 3rd, Romero’s FC forced King at home, Driesenga drove in Doyle.  UW scored on Lahner’s rbi singled in the 4th.   Michigan pulled away top 6th on Sweet’s 3-run homer.
#14 Michigan Upset by Virginia Tech  3-2 at the Garman
WP Jasmon Harrell3H.  LP Haylie Wagner.  S Kelly Heinz.  Scoreless until top 5th.  Two out, Banks scored on Smith rbi single.  Two out top 6th:  Banks and Ake scored on Spaw’s 2-run double.  Michigan loaded bases bottom 6th on two walks and Sappingfield single.  Heinz, so effective against Arizona, relieved.  A run scored on Driesenga’s sac fly.  The Hokies left bases loaded top 7th; on three singles but a fly ball and strikeout ended the threat.  The Wolverines in the 7th had 2 0n, two out, after Lane walked and Knapp doubled, rbi, but the tying run was left on base.

#16 Washington def DePaul 6-4
WP Bryanna Walker.  LP Hannah Penna.  Huskies led throughout; Blue Demons scored 3 top 7th.  Braun was 2-2, 2 rbi inc home run.

#19 Arizona upset by #21 Virginia Tech 9-2/DH
WP Kelly Heinz.  LP Shelby Babcock. . The Hokies pounded Wildcat pitching for 11 hits in the first game for both at the Judi Garman Classic.  Bottom 1st:  UofA starter Babcock  issued three walks, but Gaskill was caught stealing, Mericka looked at a third strike, Banks singled, rbi, but Arizona escaped further damage when Wolff also looked at a third strike. Arizona left 2 on in the 1st, then left bases loaded in the 3rd.  Bottom 3rd: McGoldrick singled, one out, Mericka homered, 3-0.  Wildcats scored top 5th; Wilson scored on Goodacre’s sac fly.But, Gaskill led the bottom half with a solo shot.   Liddle walked, Mericka singled, Banks singled, rbi.  Pinon relieved Babcock and ended the inning.  UofA crept closer top 6th on Young’s one-out homer.  Up 5-2, Tech widened the margin with 4 runs in the bottom half.  Smith singled, Gaskill doubled, rbi.  McGoldrick singled, rbi; Liddle homered, 2 rbi.
#19 Arizona def Notre Dame 2-0 at the Garman
WP Nancy Bowling  LP Laura Winter.  Wildcats scored top 1st; Suitos singled with one out, scored with two out on Goodacre single.  Irish collected 3 of their 5 hits bottom 3rd but couldn’t score, Saganowich made the third out at home.  UofA scored final run in 6th on Goodacre one-out homer.  Notre Dame loaded bases in bottom; singles by Koerner and Winter; a two-out walk by Buntin; Lux flied out.
