Lori Spingola no-hitter.  After Gamecocks left bases loaded, top 1st, Tar Heels scored 4 runs in bottom, Dickey grand slam.  Bottom 3rd, UNC added 3, Foulks rbi double, and, after Howser relieved starter Broyles, Orr hit a 2-run single.  Wheeler opened UNC 4th with a home run.
Arizona lost to New Mexico State 9-5/.  WP Alex Newman. LP Kenzi Fowler.  Wildcats led 5-1 after our innings — boosted by Spigner’s 2-run shot bottom 1st; Wilson jacked a 3-run homer bottom 2nd.  NMS scored top 2nd on Conrad’s leadoff homer, then added 2 top 5th, narrowing lead to two.  New Mexico state added 3 runs in the 6th and 3 more in the 7th, including Swedburg’s 2-run shot in the 6th, and her 3-run homer in the 7th.
Arizona 6, New Mexico State 3. WP Shelby Babcock; LP Kaysta Donalthorpe.  Game tied 1-1 through five innings.  NMS broke tie, top 6th, on Padillaa’s 2-run single.  in bottom, 2 on 2 out, Wilson singled 2 rbi, tying game again.  Suitos singled; Del Ponte doubled, rbi; Sp;igner doubled, rbi.
Alabama 3, Tennesse 2 (11).  WP Jackie Traina.  LP Ivy Renfroe.  A classic won by the Tide bottom 11th when Traina slugged a 2-out homer.  Vols loaded bases in 4th, Chavanne scored on Tarango’s 2-out single.  Tide recaptured lead briefly, bottom 5th, on Fenton rbi double and Boccia sac fly.  Vols tied the score when Gibson scored on Davin’s fielders choice.  Each team held firm until the 11th.  Vols loaded bases again but stranded 3.
Tennessee 5, Alabama 2.  WP Ellen Renfroe.  LP Leslie Jury.  Vols led 3-0 until 4th, thanks to Brown’s 3-run homer top 2nd.  Tide took 2 back in 4th on Hunt’s 2-run homer.  Sherman opended the Vols 5th with a solo shot.  Shiman’s rbi single in 6th closed scoring.
Missouri 2, Iowa 0.  WP Kristin Nottelmann.  LP Chelsea Lyon.  Tigers ran winning streak to 17. Opponents have not scored in 54+ innings.  Genovese reached on fielder’s choice in 3rd, stole 2nd, scored on Kingsley sac fly.  Botom 4th: consevcutive singles by Hudson, Randazzo and Krebs loaded bases; no outs; run scored on fielding error.
Missouri 8, Iowa 0 (5).  WP Chelsea Thomas.  1-hitter.  LP Kayla Massey.  Tigers led 2-0 after 3 innings on Fleming 2-run homer, then scored 6 in the 5th for the run-rule.  Consecutive singles by Stephens, Marston and Genovese loaded the bases; Fleming drew rbi walk; Rich hbp, rbi; Randazzo forced Genovese at home; Hudson singled, rbi; Lyon relieved Massey; Kingsley hbp rbi; Hay singled, rbi; Marston drew a game-inding rbi walk.
South Florida 7, Hartford 1.  WP Sam Greiner, 1-hitter.  Bulls enjoying best non-conference start, winning26 of 31 games. Bulls led in 1st on Salvarola’s 2-run double.  Hawks scored on error. Up 3-1, Medina jacked a 2-run homer in the 5th.  Rain cancelled the second game.
