GAME NOTES
Worth noting: SEC softball teams will play eight three-game SEC weekend series during the 2013 season announced Thursday under the new league format revealed by the conference office. With Missouri and Texas A&M joining the conference effective July 1, SEC softball will have 13 teams. Texas A&M will compete in the Western Division, while Missouri will participate in the Eastern Division. The 2013 SEC softball schedule is not based on any other previous or future scheduling formats. The SEC Athletics Directors are currently in the process of formulating scheduling principles for the 2013-14 season and beyond. Conference docket will shrink from the current 28-game format down to 24 league tilts. There will no longer be mid-week doubleheaders. The SEC Tournament will remain in its current eight-team, single-elimination format.
