GAME NOTES

 Missouri 3, Kansas 2.  Allie Clark gave up 7 hits, but 2 were home runs.  Top 3rd:  Christopher belted a solo HR to center.  Vock, back-to-back, homered to right field.  Missouri 2-0.  Top 5th:  Marston opened with a single; bases loaded on two walks, two outs, Marston scored on Schweisberge’s rbi walk.  Bottom 5th:  Hull singled with two out; Newman reached on an error; Ingle rbi single; Vickers rbi single.  Montgomery singled to lead the Kansas 7th but was stranded.
Missouri 6,  Kansas 5.  Tigers’ school record 21st consecutive win – a 16-yr old record.  Missouri took lead top 1st on Fleming’s 2-run homer.  But, Jayhawks answered in bottom with 3 runs.  Jones and Hull walked; with two out, Montgomery reached on error at short, loading the bases.  Hull tripled.  Mizzou tied top 3rd; Taylor singled, Marston doubled, rbi.  Missouri took lead on Ruggeberg rbi double. 4-3.  Jayhawks back on top in 5th when Koon and Montgomery hit back to back homers. 5-4.  Tigers clambered back to top in 6th on Lee’s 2-run homer.   Thomas relieved and held Kansas scoreless last 2 innings.  
Tulsa 1, Oklahoma 0.  Tight game, with just five hits.  The Hurricanes, who have a history of playing the Sooners close, limited OU to one base runner thru 4, and OU left 2 runners stranded in the 6th.  In the bottom, Chapman led with a double; advanced on a sac bunt by Everett, and scored on a wild pitch.    Tulsa left a runner.  Top 7th: the Sooners went down in order.
Georgia 9, South Carolina-Upstate 1 (5).  The Bulldogs racked 3 home runs among 9 hits off Childers (12 hits in all).  Schlopy, one of the best leadoff hitters in the game, opened the bottom of the 1st with a homer.  Goler hit a 2-run shot.  3-0.  Trout scored on a Pauly single in the 2nd.  USC rallied top 3rd with consecutive two-out singles by Brasil, Lewis and Zauner; Brasil scored on a ss throwing error after Zauner’s single.  Georgia took that back and more in the bottom on Hesson’s 2-run homer.  Alexander relieved Childers.  After Owen struck out 2 of 3, top 4th, Georgia added 3 runs.Schlopy walked; Pauly singled; Wiggins doubled; rbi; Goler singled rbi; Sandberg grounded out rbi.  Georgia 24-4.  USC Upstate 28-3.
Louisville 6,   Kentucky 0.  Wolny crushed a homer in the Louisville 2nd.  Rowlands and Yocke singled, withone out, in the KU 3rd; no score.  Jordan scored on Esteban’s sac fly in the 3rd.  After Collins struck out 2 of 3 top 5th, Louisville ta;;oed twp. the first on a steal by Ruckenbrod, the second by Esteban on an error.  Louisville loaded the bases, bottom 6th’ Ruckenberg rbi single, Kiyohara a sac fly.
Texas 6, Texas A&M-CC 0.  With national player of the week Luna keeping the base paths clear, the Horns proceeded to a methodical victory.  With two out, bottom 1st, Bennett singled, advanced on an error, and scored on Hooks single.  Texas 3rd: Washington singled, Bennett walked, both advanced on a wild pitch, Hooks walked, loading the bases; Washington scored on a passed ball; Bennett scored on Taylor’s groundout.  Wild pitches figured into the 4th; Washington sac fly, Bennett rbi double. 
Texas 2, Texas A&M-CC 0.  Superb job by freshman Fox in a game in which the Longhorn offense stayed in the corral.  Bottom 2nd: Hooks walked; Taylor sac bunt; Schmidt single; Hooks scored on Craig single.  Top 6th: Fox struck out the side.  BNottom: Bennett singled with two out; Hooks singled; Taylor rbi.
