S Mackenzie Popescue.  Bruins smacked 2 homers off Escobedo but came up a run short.  Girard hit the first bomb, a 2-run shot in the ASU 3rd.  Hall relieved McDuffie to pitch the 4th; three more Sun Devils scored., Johnson rbi double, Freeman rbi single, Girard rbi single.  UCLA scored in the bottom: one out, Rodriguez 2-run homer. LaRosa led the Bruins 6th with a solo shot; Carda and Hall walked; Popescue relieved; Rodriguez grounded out; Moaei grounded out rbi.  5-4.  One out, bottom 7th, Goulder and Bates walked; UCLA’s long-ball hitters up, but LaRosa flied out and Carda grounded out.
#4 Texas A&M upset by #8 Tennessee
WP Ivy Renfroe in relief. LP Mel Dumezich. Vols won with score bottom 7th.  Vols loaded bases, bottom 1st, Brown singled in 2 runs. Two out, top 2nd, Aggies scored 2 runs on error at 3rd by Chavanne. Chavanne took one back witha one-out, rbi double, bottom 2nd. Chavanne scored on Gibson single, 4-2.  Aggies tied top 5th on Tsarczyk’s 2-run homer.  TAMU stranded two in 5th then left bases loaded in 6th.  Dumezich opened Aggies 7th with double and advanced to 3rd on throw.  Ivy Renfroe relieved Ellen Renfroe.  Dumezich was stranded.  Vols loaded bases; Chavanne, Dotson singled; Gibson walked; Shipman won the game with an rbi single down right field line.  Tennessee 27-6.  TAMU 26-5.
#5 California def Utah 4-1
WP Jolene Henderson LP Kayce Nieto.  Henderson’s 120th win. Bottom 3rd: one out, Taylor singled, stole 2nd, Cordes homered; Decker walked, Ziegenhirt singled, rbi.  Utah loaded bases top 4th; after losing an out at home, Pacheco singled in the Utes run.  Cordes added an rbi single in the 6th.

WP Jackie Traina 1H. LP Lexi Davis.  The third inning told the story.  In the top, Auburn loaded the bases, no outs,  trailing 2-0. Medina and Howard reached on errors; Estell walked; Melero and Carosone hit into fielder’s choice plays, both outs at home.  Lathan popped to short.  The bottom half was a complete opposite.  Braud and Hunt singled; Traina hbp, loaded. Spencer singled, 2 rbi; Sewell walked, loaded again; one out, Lafaele singled, 2 rbi; Hawkins singled, reloaded; McCleney singled, 2 rbi.  Howard relieved; Braud walked; Hunt singled, 2 rbi; Braud scored on a wild pitch; Traina walked, Harper became the third Auburn pitcher. Spencer singled, rbi.  When two fly balls ended the at-bat, Bama had scored 11 runs on 8 hits.

WP Aubrey Broyles  LP Rachel3 Fico.  Gamecocks prevented Tigers from a 3-game sweep by racking 7 hits off LSU ace Fico, with Struett a particular nemesis.  Garcia opened the game with a triple; two out, Struett singled, rbi.  Same 2-out situation top 3rd, Struett rbi single. LSU on the board in the 4th via Kloss’ rbi double.  Gamecocks expanded lead with 2 runs in 5th; bases loaded, Fico struck out one batter, but Hakins hit a 2-run single.  LSU stranded 7 runners.  SC 18-11/1-5.  LSU 27-6/7-2 SEC.
