Two-out solo homers by Mendes, Fulmer top 1st give Gamecocks initial lead.  Tar Heels racked six in bottom and game was never close again.  First three batters reached safely, loading bases; after an out at home, Wheeler jacked a grand slam.  Chastain relieved Goodwin.  Dickey hit 2-run shot to close out 1st.  UNC added six more in 2nd; With Borchard now in USC circle, Roberts rbi single; Dickey slugged 3-run HR.  Blake drew rbi walk after bases loaded.  12-3.  Gamecocks rallied for three in 3rd on rbi by Voigt and 2-run single by Hamilton.  But, Dickey slugged her third homer of the game in the bottom half, then the Tar Heels scored four in the 4th.  two on home run by McKinney.  UNC had 15 hits to 9 for USC.

First Loyola-Chicago win over ranked team since 2007.  Andresen, Funston and Grim racked rbi’s in bottom 3rd.   In 5th, Andresen singled, scored on Funston homer.  After O’Donnell relieved Valdivia to pitch the 6th, Loyola-Chicago reached run-rule with three scores.  Arceneaux walked, Bradich struck out but reached on a wild pitch, Medrud reached on an rbi fielder’s choice; a double steal put runners at 2nd and 3rd; with two out, Solava singled home the last two runs.

Scoreless game until bottom 5th when Cowgirls scored three runs.  Garcia led with a solo shot.  Casaus walked, Gearhart singled, both moved on sac by Bright; Hamilton walked, loading the bases; Casaus scored on illegal pitch; Ward singled, rbi.  Knehans opened the the MSU 6th with a homer.  Chapin closed out the scoring with an MSU homer in the 7th.
