WP Dallas Escobedo 2H. LP Tina Andreana.  Two out, bottom 1st, Freeman homered. Bottom 3rd: Johnson, Coyle walked, Freeman jacled her second homer, a 3-run shot. After the Beavers left two top 4th, the Sun Devils racked seven runs.  Kemp walked, Parlich homered.  Wigness reached on error, Johnson rbi single.  Coyle cracked a 2-run homer.   Two out, Caporuscio homered, 2-runs.  ASU 34-3/5-1.  OSU 23-8/0-3.

WP Chelsea Thomas.  LP Aubrey Broyles. Tigers tagged Broyles for 7H, 6 runs inc 2 home runs.  Bottom 2nd: Sykes rbi single followed by Genovese 2-run homer.   Gamecocks stranded 2 in 3rd, before Missouri ripped off 5 more.  After Randazzo slugged a 3-run homer, Howser replaced Broyles.  Two on, Kingsley reached on error at short, Genovese scored.

WP Leslie Jury  LP Mel Dumezich.  Bama loaded bases top 2nd; Hays hbp, rbi, Hawkins walked, rbi.  Top 3rd, Fitchner doubled in 2 runs.  Top 5th: Traina led with a solo blast. Hunt belted 2-out solo.  Aggies got on the board in the bottom on Lamphear’s 2-run homer.  Alabama 31-5/7-4.  TAMU 28-6/5-5.
#10 Oregon upset by #15 Washington 2-1
WP Kaitlyn Inglesby  LP Cheridan Hawkins. Ducks led 1-0 on Cuico’s homer leading off 2nd.  UW tied bottom 4th on Wriight’s rbi single; UW stranded two.  Huskies broke tie with 2 out, bottom 6th. Lahners and Wright singled; Suguro singled, rbi; UW again left two on. Oregon down in order in 7th.  Oregon Oregon 28-5.  Washington 25-10.
#11 Louisville def Syracuse 9-0 (5)
WP Caralisa Connell 1-hitter.  LP  Lindsay Taylor.  Fowler jacked 2 homers, inc a 3-run blast which highlighted the Cards 6-run first inning.  After Wolny was hbp in the 2nd, Fowler belted her fifth homer of the season.  Trimble’s rbi in the 3rd closed out scoring.  Connell is 18-2.   Louisville , the ranking Big East team, is 28-6/2-1.  Syracuse 12-16/1-2.
#13 Michigan def Penn State  18-4/DH
WP Sara Driesenga  LP Marissa Diescher.  If you ever had a daughter who pitched, you have compassion for Diescher, who pitcheded one-third of an inning, gave up 5 walks and 6 runs, top 1st.  Lady Lions got back 2 in bottom on Furuya’s 2-run shot. UM added a run ion 2nd on Driesenga’s rbi, then racked another six in the 3rd., led by Romero’s 2-run homer.  Ahead 13-2, UM posted 4 more in the 4th. Penn State scored a run in the bottom, but the Wolverines scored another top 5th on Romero’s leadoff homer, her second of the game.  Penn State scored one in the bottom, Sovereign scoring on Johnson’s rbi.  Reliever Wheatley was charged with 7 runs, reliever Myers with 5. UM had 17 hits. 27-7.  PSU 7-18.
Game 2: Michigan 9, Penn State 6
WP Haylie Wagner LP Macy Jones.  The Lady Lions pitching corps hit hard in Game One, Jones took the brunt of the assault in Game Two, charged with 14 hits (31 UM hits for the day).  Michigan took lead top 2nd on rbi’s by Sweet and Sappingfield. Sweet jacked a 3-run homer top 3rd.  Romero homered in the 4th.  A run scored on Doyle’s sac fly in the 5th.  Bottom 5th: Lady Lions found their bats and scored all six runs: bases loaded, Sovereign rbi single; Bell singled, rbi; two runs scored when Furuya reached on an error in right; Presto and Johnson hit rbi singles, 7-6. But, UM added two top 6th.  UM 28-7.  Penn State 7-19.

Tiger pitchers Rachele Fico, (game 1) Ashley Czechner and Meghan Patterson yielded just 5 hits with a combined 18 K for their 14th and 15th shutouts.  LSU offense pounded out 15 hits.

WP Teagan Gerhart  LP Ally Carda.  Tightly contested, nine hits total.  Cardinal scored bottom 1st on Roulund single, and another run bottom 2nd on Schaberg’s solo.  Bruins stranded 5 runners.  Stanford 24-9/2-4. UCLA 25-8/2-4.

WP Heather Stearns.  LP Smith.  Bears completed sweep of Cyclone series.  Stearns pitched 4.1 iniings of perfect relief, fanning eight.  ISU scored 2 top 1st on ToTorrescano’s 2-out, 2-run homer.  Baylor took one back in bottom on Holl’s sac fly. Cyclones loaded bases top 3rd; Spendlove singled, rbi; Reese doubled in 2 runs.  Baylor narrowed gap to 5-4 with 3 in bottom.  Bases loaded, Hays rbi single, Strickland rbi single, Kettler rbi single.  Baylor took first lead with 3 bottom 6th. Shelton, Thumann singled; Holl rbi sac fly; Smith hbp; Hays singled, Thumann scored on error in center; Jones relieved Smith; Strickland walked, Smith scored on an illegal pitch.  Baylor 29-7.  Iowa State 14-19.

Tatum Edwards 4H, 9K.  LP Pepper Gay. The Lady Huskers trailed2-0 for five innings before scoring a run in the 6th; they then scored 5 runs in top 7th. Two out, bottom 1st, Illinois scored on a 2-run triple by Davis.  Nebraska loaded bases top 6thlost a runner at home before Armstrong scored when Taylor Edwards was hbp.  Left bases loaded. Top 7th: 2 on, Breault tied game with rbi single. Ahead byone, the Huskers lost another runner at home before Taylor Edwards hit a 3-run double.  Nebraska 24-6/3-0 in its first year in Big Ten competition.  Illinois is 10-16/0-4.

#21 Arizona upset by Utah 8-4
WP Kayce Nieto 4H.  LP Shelby Babcock.  First Pac 12 win for the Utes. After Fankhauser reached on an error, bottom 1st, Sweet belted a 2-run homer for Utah. The Wildcats took the lead briefly top 3rd; Lavine scored on an error, Goodacre doubled in 2 runs.  Utah immediately reclaimed the lead in the bottom; Fankhauser and Sweet hit back to back doubles, rbi; two out, Pacheco singled, rbi, 4-3.  That lead expanded in the 4th; Everett walked, Stewart doubled, rbi; after Fankhauser singled, Pinon relieved Babcock. one out, Hoopiiaina reached on an error at 2nd, two runs scored. UofA got one back top 5th on Goodacre’s 2-out rbi single. Utah closed out bottom 6th on Fankhauser’s rbi triple.  Utah 14-16-1/1-5.  Arizona 23-11/3-3.
