Rus relieved Adkins to pitch the 5th; Smith doubled in another run to lead 4-1. Weseman drove in two ryuns, bottom 6th. Georgia Southern stranded a runner top 7th. Bottom: Jones singled, Yess given intentional pass, Kuzma advanced runners to 2nd and 3rd, Weseman given intentional walk, loading bases for Priebe who was hbp, rbi. Score tied, Rush singled in winning run.

Tech closed out scoring in bottom half on Yee’s leadoff home run.

USC:with Sarratt on 2nd, Brasil singled, but Chewning lined into double play; Harris singled in winning run.

Slugfest: Upstate 10 hits, Charlotte 12 hits. Buchan scored for Charlotte top 2nd on Palma single. After Charlotte left bases loaded top 3rd, Upstate tied when Brasil scored on Chewning single. Upstate led 2-1 on Lewis rbi single in 6th, but Charlotte racked 3 runs top 7th, 4-2, after Childers relieved and yielded all 3 runs, including Smith solo. Zaunder kept Upstate in the game, bottom 8th, with 2-run double. Jeffery relieved. Childers shut down Charlotte in 8th on sac bunt and two Ks. In bottom, with Quevedo on 2nd, Jeffery fanned Lewis and Sarratt but Brasil singled in the winner.

U Mass had a seemingly comfortable lead after scoring 4 runs top 2nd, an rbi single by Rogers and Libby’s 3-run blast. The lead grew yto 6-0 in 4th When Reeves and Carta hit back-to-back homers to center. Boston got one back in the bottom on Tuthill’s two out homer, then scored four runs in the 5th on Setterlund’s grand slam. U Mass added to its margin on Reeves’ second homer in the 6th. U Mass 26-7. Boston 20-14.

The Tide added two in the 2nd; Braud walked, was safe at 2nd on catcher error; Morgan jacked a 2-run homer. Davis scored the final Bama run on Braud’s single. In the bottom, Hobbs doubled, and scored with two out on a wild pitch. Alabama 32-9. Mississippi Valley State 18-21.

The Tigers connected on a season-high 14 hits while scoring 11 times. Junior Rhea Taylor and freshman Lindsey Muller each went 3-for-3 with three runs batted in. Freshman Jenna Marston also collected three RBI on a 1-for-3 day, extending her team-leading RBI total to 34 on the season. Juniors Catherine Lee and Marla Schweisberger and senior Gina Schneider all collected two hits apiece.
