GAME NOTES

 LSU 2, McNeese State 1.  WP Meghan Patterson. Santos and Trosclair hit the rbi’s, while Langoni was 2-3.  The win stopped a 4-game skid.

 Texas A&M 9, Texas Tech 6. Texas Tech, which had just moved into the top 25, had no time to celebrate before being swept by the Aggies.  In the 9-6 ga,e. Tech trailed 6-1 before Perez slugged a 3-run homer bottom 5th.  TZMU countered with 3, top 6th, including a 2-run single by Tsarczyk.  TAMU won the second game 9-0 (5).  WP Lauren Ainsley. 3H  LP Barittany Talley.  Dumezich homered for the Aggies.

Georgia State 5, Alabama 1.  WP Kaitlyn Medlam.  LP Leslie Jury.  Tide first non-conference loss at home since 2010.  The Eide had only 4 hits, failed to take advantage of 2 errors by Georgia Styate which had 6 hits.  Bottom 4th: Bama broke a scoreless tie, Branham walked, three batters later, scored on Braud’s single.  State scored all its runs in the Clifotn singled; Williams walked; Mason reached on a throwing error, loading the bases.  Locke relieved Jury.Phillips singled, rbi; Williams scored on a wild pitch; one out, Coleman drew an rbi walk; Alford drove in 2 runs with a single to right.  Alabama stranded a runner in each of the last three innings.

 San Jose State 2, Stanford 1.  WP Amanda Pridmore.  LP Teagan Gerhart.  The Cardinal, scored in top 3rd on White’s rbi single, and held that lead until bottom 7th.  Collins singled; Cox walked on a 3-2 count; Garcia singled, rbi; Collins scored, Cox scored on an error in center field.

Tennessee swept Memphis 5-0, 3-2. Game One: WP Ivy Renfroew.  LP Ellen Roberts.  Shipman drove in 2 runs.  Game Two: WP Ellen Renfroe.  LP Jordan Richwood.  Vols broke a 2-2 tie bottom 5th on Burchell’s homer.
