STARKVILLE, Miss. – Senior second baseman Jen Yee of Georgia Tech has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I National Player of the Week for the second time this season for games played between April 12 and April 18.

Yee batted an astounding .733 on the week by going 11-for-14 with 14 runs, 5 RBIs, six walks, three homeruns and two doubles. She was also 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts, had a slugging percentage of 1.467 and an .818 on-base percentage.

Aside from her monstrous weekly numbers, the North Delta, B.C. native broke two school records last week and tied another conference and school record.  Against Boston College on Saturday, Yee set a new Georgia Tech career mark for walks with 119 and a new single-season run record with 73.  In the series finale with the Eagles on Sunday, Yee hit her 24th home run of the year to tie the current Atlantic Coast Conference and school single-season record.

Georgia Tech, who came in at eighth in the latest USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 poll, is currently 41-6 on the year and 14-1 ACC.  With just six conference games left on the schedule, the Yellow Jackets sit on top of the conference standings and are four and half games ahead of second-place Virginia.

Saw Jen play when she was with Niagara, where she still holds some records. Terrific player, hope she gets to the World Series!
