Alabama 1, South Carolina 0. No hitter for Kelsi Dunne; 10K, 2BB, 1hbp.  Top 1st: Braud walked, stole 2nd.  Fenton sacrifice. Larsen rbi single.  The story of the rest of the game was illustrated by goose eggs as both pitching staffs earned kudos.  Bama was limited to 5 hits.  Bama 36-2/11-0.  SC 11-17/3-12.
Georgia Tech 2, Maryland 0. Solid pitching by both teams: Georgia Tech 1 hit; Maryland 2 hits.  Knight yielded 1 hit: a 2-run homer to Sinclair, top 2nd, after Priebe walked.  Both Maryland hits came in the 7th – singles by Galindo and Hickey – to spoil the no-hit bid by Anderson.  With runners at the corners, two out, bottom 7th, Maier worked a 3-2 count against Anderson, and walked, loading the bases.  Branson struck out, ending the game.
Virginia Tech 4, Florida State 3 (8). Top 1st: VA Tech, Andersonsingled, advanced on wild pitch; Rose walked; with two out, Ward walked, Anderson scored on wild pitch.  Tech lead 3-0 in 3rd on rbi by Froelich and Ward.  Seminoles scored 2 bottom 5th; Hamilton led with a solo HR; with one out, Gomez homered.  Roark relieved Harrell.  FSU tied bottom 6th; pinch runner Bryant scored on Stager groundout.  A walk and 2 singles loaded the bases for FSU, bottom 7th; no score.  Top 8th: Ward singled, advanced on sac bunt; reached 3rd on sac bunt; scored on fielder’s choice rbi by Wolff.  FSU Senas singled with 2 out.  Virginia Tech is now 28-9.  Florida State 17-19.
Tennessee 8, Auburn 0 (6). While the younger Renfroe was limiting the Tigers to 2 hits, the Vols were holding on to a 1-0 lead until the 6th when they scored 7 runs.  Vols 3rd: Chavanne singled,  Grieve walked, Gibson bunt single; bases full, Chavanne scored on Spigner sac fly.  Vols 6th: Spigner, Dotson singled; Burchell jacked 3-run homer.  Palomino relieved Schmalz who had relieved Bunner.  Shipman walked, with one out, went to 3rd on wild pitch; Lewis and Chavanne walked; Grieve and Gibson hit rbi singles; Dotson walked, rbi, run-rule.  Tennessee 29-6/7-4.  Auburn 29-7/9-5.
Kentucky 9, Florida 2. The Wildcats had a ferocious 1st.  Aull opened with a solo; Yocke walked; Dill singled; Cervantes walked, loading the bases; Cumbess reached on an rbi fielder’s choice; DeMartine also hit an rbi fielder’s choice; Dill was out at home but Cervantes scored on an error;Riley walked; Rowlands rbi groundout; Jolly rapped a 2-run single; Aull, who opened the at-bat with a homer, now hit her second dinger of the inning, a 2-run shot.  Jolly doubled, scored on an error in the UK 4th.  Florida tallied 2 runs, top 5th: Holle singled, Moultrie bunt single; Paculba 2-run double.  Florida is 30-6/7-5.  Kentucky is 24-7/10-3.
Texas A&M 7, Iowa State 5. Aggies sweep series but hold off late Cyclone rally.  ISU scored top 1st, Kidwell walked,  scored on Miller single.  TAMU immediately topped that score; Villareal doubled, to 3rd on wild pitch; Tysarczyk walked and stole 2nd; Villareal scoring on error at 2nd.  Dumezich rbi single.  TAMU surged ahead in 3rd; Villareal doubled, Tysarczyk homered.  Orsak homered to lead Aggie 4th.  Kidwell scored in Cyclone 5th on Varela single.  ISU got a homer from Habben in the 6th.  5-3.  TAMU bumped the lead up to 7-3 with 2 runs bottom 6th; with two out, Tysarczyk walked, Kleising homered.  Dumezich relieved Sisk to pitch the 7th. Davison walked; Varela 2-run homer.  TAMU 30-8.  ISU 16-13.
Missouri 6, Baylor 0. Thomas threw 4-hit shutout to square accounts with the Bears, who had upset the Tigers earlier this weekend.  Tigers racked 4 runs in 3rd; Marston doubled, advanced on wild pitch, scored on error.  Hudson crushed a 3-run homer.  Tigers loaded bases top 7th.  Vock 2-run double, Hudson and Fleming scored, but Lee was out at home 7-6-2.  Missouri 28-5.  Baylor 28-6.
Texas 10, Oklahoma State 0 (6). Horns outhit Cowgirls 13-3, starting off with Hoagland’s single, scoring on an error, followed by Bennett’s 2-run homer top 1st.  Top 3rd: Washington scored on Schmidt single.  Hooks scored in 5th on Schmidt single.  Texas doubled the score with a 5-run 6th.   Bases loaded, Odom relieved Espinosa.  Washington, Taylor, Scott rbi singles.  Texas 31-3/4-0.  Oklahoma State 29-9/1-3.
Virginia 3, North Carolina 1.  First ACC victory for Virginia. Mahon scored on McKinney single in 2nd, and Tar Heels held 1-0 lead until 5th — and scored single runs ineach of last three innings.  Erica Cipolloni homered in 5th; Skinkis hit bases-loaded single in 6th; Williams scored final Cavalier run in 7th on Bowdren single.  North Carolina is 24-13/7-2.  Virginia is 16-19/1-7.
UCLA 12, Oregon State 2 (6). Bruins built 7-0 lead before Beavers scored 2, top 5th, which UCLA answered with 5 runs in bottom.  Schroeder led UCLA 1st with single; advanced on error; Bates walked; Harrison rbi single; Fox walked; Yudin rbi walk.  Bruins left bases loaded.  Three runs crossed in Bruins 2nd.  Snow walked, Schroeder singled, Bates singled to left, Snow scored, Schroeder scored on error.  Bates scored on Harrison sac fly.  After Beavers stranded 2 in 3rd, UCLA scored on Tiumalu 2-run homer.  Trailing 7-0, OSU tacked on 2 runs, top 5th, on Guzy’s 2-run homer.  UCLA 5th: DiSalvatore drew rbi walk; Harrison smacked a grand slam home run to end the gsmr on run-rule.  UCLA 26-5/3-0.  Oregon State 16-11/0-3.
Nebraska 7,  Kansas 1. Jayhawks took first lead in 2nd on Kocon solo.  Huskers tied in 4th on Tai Edwards homer.  Banda doubled to lead Husker 5th; scored on Tay Edwards single.  Tai Edwards scored ikn 6th on Southworth foul out.  The 4-run Husker 7th began with a solo shot by Thomason.  After Brechtel was hbp, Clark took the circle for KU.  Brechtel advanced on wild pitch, scored on Tai Edwards double.  Huskers loaded bases; two more runs scored.  NU 30-4.  KU 27-10.
Oregon 8, Washington 0 (6). First Pac 10 loss for Huskies.  After stranding 2 in2nd, Ducks notched 5 in 3rd.  Ceo and Petersonsingled, with one out; Fulava doubled in two runs.  Vitek doubled, rbi.  Pappas singled, 2 rbi.  Peterson, Fulava rbi paced 3-run 6th.  Washington 27-3.  Oregon 28-7.
California 3, Arizona State 2. Escobedo’s K’s in her relief stint went for naught, overshadowed by 4 walks, including a bases-loaded rbi walk to Wallace to end thee game.  ASU scored top 2nd but lost a run at home plate.  Parlich homered in ASU 2nd, 2-0 lead. Bears 5th: E Reid homered with one out.  Decker and Vonk sinkgled. Vonk forced by Williams.  Decker scored on Echavarria single.  Escobedo relieved Popescue. Tied 2-2.  Cal 6th: Jones walked, but Escobedo struck out three.  Top 7th: Haro singled, but was stranded.  Decker led Cal with a single; one out, Williams intentionally walked; Echavarria walked, loading the bases.  Ziegenhirt struck out; Wallace drew the game-winning walk.  Arizona State 35-3.  California 22-7.
LSU 1, Arkansas 0. Tigers swept series with their sixth straight win.  Fico threw a 3-hitter, striking out 11.  LSU scored in the 5th.  Heyward walked, advanced on two groundouts, scored on Young’s single to center.  LSU 21-12/5-6.
