Pacific 5, Fresno State 4. Pacific upsets Bulldogs on same day Fresno State returns to Top 25 status. Pacific led throughout, scoring a run bottom 2nd. Petty doubled, Rodriguez scored. Bottom 3rd: Moore singled in 2 runs. Moses relieved Oakes. Moore homered in the Bulldog 4th. In the 5th, Hall doubled, scored on Gilleland double. Fresno State lost a runner at home in the 7th, after Ortiz scored from 3rd on catcher error. Bulldogs Moses tied score on Stiglich single. Both left runners on in extra innings. Top 11th: Bulldogs down in order. Bottom: Rodriguez opened with a double; Petty sac bunt. Pierce grounded out but Horn reached on an error at short, Rodriguez scoring the winning run.
Notre Dame 9, Wisconsin 1 (6). Heather Johnson, Big East player of the week, tied the game at 1-1 with a single in the 3rd, extending her hitting streak to 12 games. She was 2-4; Maldonado was 3-3, scoring 3 runs. After thr Badgers scored an unearned run in the 5th, Fleury and Buntinhit consecutive triples; Miller smashed a 3-run homer. Marrone scored on Clay’s sac fly, 7-1. Two more runs in the final inning led to final score.
Oklahoma State 10. Missouri State 2 (6). Oklahoma State pounded out 13 hits, including 7hits inthe 6-run second inning. Garcia was 3-4, 4 rbi, on a home run and double; Morrisiob was 3-4; Brown also 3-4, double and 2 singles. Freshman Moergan Hawkins started for OWSU; relieved by Freeman in the 4th and 5th; Espinosa finished the game.
