GAME NOTES
LSU 3, Alabama 2. WP Rachele Fico 4H, 9K, 2 HR. Although she yielded 2 homers, accountiing for all of Bama’s runs. Rachele Fico set the Tide down for the second time this season. One ut, top 1st, Lingoni jacked a 2-run homer off loser Leslie Jury. fLocke belted a one-outhomer for Bama, bottom 2nd. Twoa out, top 3rd, the Tigers Langoni and Santos walked; Falcon ripped an rbi single. Two out in the bottom half, Fenton homered — which ended the scoring. The Tigers stranded 2 runners in the 4th, 5th, and 7th. Fico struck out two of the three Bama batters in a 1-2-3 7th.
Tennessee 5, Auburn 2 (10). WP Ellen Renfroe. LP Angel Bunner. A hitting flurry at the start had Auburn leading 3-2 after two innings. Shipman, who had 4 rbi, hit a 2-run homer, top 1st. The Tigeers answered with 3 runs, bottom 2nd; Harrison singled, stole second; Jordan hbp; Schultze advanced both runners with a sac bunt; Stephens hit intoa fielder’s choice, Harrrison out at home; Melero hbp; bags full, Jordan scored on Guzman’s single; Eisterhold drove in 2 runs. Top 5th: Lewis reached on one of two Tiger errors; Lewis scored the tying run on Shipman’s rbi groundout. The score was knotted 3-3 unil the top of the 10th. Gibson hbp, scored on Shipman’s triple. Shipman scored on an illegal pitch. Trailing for the first time, Auburn went down in order. Tennessee 30-9 (12-6). Auburn 26-14 (5-10).
Kansas 6, Baylor 1. WP Alicia Pille. LP Courtney Repka. Jayhawks scored six runs in first two innings. Top 1st: Naudin and Montgomery had rbi singles. Top 2nd: Naudin grand slam. Baylor scored bottom 6th; Walker and Turk singled, Walker scored on a throwing error at short. Kansas 24-12. Baylor 26-13.
Arizona 5, Washington 3. WP Kenzie Fowler. LP Kaitlyn Inglesby. The Huskies had a 1-0 lead for 4 innings, thanks to Souza’s rbi single, bottom 1st. The Wildcats let loose with 5 runs, yop 5th. Koria led with a homer; one out, Buchanan singled; two out, Suitos singled; Del Ponte reached on an error by the pitcher, two runs scored; Gametracker doesn’t show the other 2 runs. UW rallied for 2 runs in the bottom; Smith drew a bases loaded walk, rbi; Clifton scored on Wright’s groundout. UW stranded 2. Souza doubled bottom 7th but was stranded. Arizona 25-9. Washington 32-6.
Oklahoma 4, Texas Tech 1. WP Michelle Gascoigne. LP Sara Custer. OU wins series 2-1. Chamberlain jacked a 2-run homer, bottom 1st, then slugged another 2-run homer bottom 3rd. Tech scored top 6th; Hall doubled, scored on James double. OU is 32-5 (8-2). Texas Tech is 31-9 (4-4).
California 11, Utah 3 (5). WP Valerie Arioto. LP Generra Nielson. The Bears slugged 5 round-trippers. Cal led 6-2 after one inning. Homers were hit by Arioto, Williams, Kostreba, Danielle and Jolene Henderson.
Florida 9, Ole Miss 1 (5). WP Hannah Rogers. LP Erinn Jayjohn. Gators loaded bases bottom 1st – 2 walks and a single — enroute to a 6-run at-bat. Coyle drew a bases-loaded walk for the first run; Sami Fagan scored on Horton’s rbi groundout; Haeger scored on Gammel’s sac fly; Medina doubled in 2 runs. Cantillo homered to open the 4th for Ole Miss. In the botom, Florida added 3, including an rbi double by Haeger. Florida 34-4 (14-2). Ole Miss 16-20 (3-10).
Missouri 2, Texas 0. WP Chelsea Thomas. LP Kim Bruins. Texas loses back-to-bak games for the first time this season as Thomas limits the Horns to five hits. Top 2nd: Miller singled, Corwin in to run; Genovese reached on fielder’s choice, forcing Corwin; with 2 out, Roth singled, rbi, Genovese scored. Fleming belted a 2-out homer in the 3rd. Misssouri 30-6, 9-3. Texas is 32-4/6-2.
Oregon 12, Stanford 8. WP Jessica Moore. LP Teagan Gerhart. Moore yielded 13 hits and a home run, but the Ducks prevailed thanks to a 10-run 3rd inning. Oregon had left bases full in the 1st; Stanfrod scored that inning; Womter amd White singled, Rich singled, rbi. Oregon left 2 more in the 2nd, a prelude. Oregon sent 13 batters to the plate; Chambers doubled; Cuico and Pappas singled; Peterson doubled, rbi. Nieto banged a 3-run homer. Four batters later, Howard jacked a 3-run homer. With 2 outs, Pappas slugged a 2-run homer. Stanford took 3 back in the 4th on Roulund’s rbi single, Becerra’s rbi double. White led the Cardinal 5th with a homer; Hansen walked, eventually scored on a wild pitch. 10-6. Bottom 6th: White tripled; Hovinga relieved Moore. White and Hansen scored on Burns’ double. Oregon capped its hitting spree with 2 runs in the 7th. Howard doubled; Chambers homered. Oregon 25-8 (4-4). Stanford 28-10 (2-7).
South Florida 6, St John’s 0. Sara Nevins had a no-hitter with 2 outs in 7th.
