All Michigan runs came through the long ball.  Wolverines took lead top 1st on St Clair’s 2-run homer, the first of three by UM hitters. Shaw jacked a 3-run shot in the 3rd.  Viefhaus slugged a 3-run homer in the 4th.  Indiana scored bottom 5th, Gogreve doubled after Glueckert singled.  Indiana’s second run was bottom 7th, Olson led off with a home run to right field.  Michigan 27-5, 4-0.  Indiana 7-22, 0-3.

Wolverines, who belted 13 hits, were leading 6-0 when they racked 8 runs, top 4th.  Evans 3-4, 5 rbi, and Viefhaus 2-2, 3 rbi, and home run, paced the assault. Findlay, Shaw and Bausher also had rbi hits.

Megan Castle homered to lead off the 7th inning. Both of Castle’s homers this season have led off innings.  The Bears loaded the bases in the 4th, and stranded two runners in each of the 3rd and 5th innings.

WP Ashley Forsyth.  0 hits, 17 Ks.  Forsyth is one of three Pirate hurlers to pitch a perfect game and a no-hitter in their careers.  She struck out nine consecutive batters from the 2nd to 4th innings; struck out the side four times, and no ball left the infield.

Trailing the Mount 4-2, with two out bottom 7th, Colonial Sandi Moynihan slugged two-run HR to tie and force extra innings.  GW had scored a run earlier in the inning on an error.  The Mount scored top 8th on a one-out double.  Elaine Nescio pitched for GW.

The Vols, who racked 16 hits, rolled a natural bottom 1st.  With one out, Grieve, Dotson and Huff (rbi) singled; Spigner walked; Huff scored on wild pitch; Gibson rbi single; Burchell walked, loading the sacks; with two out, Andrews cleared the bases with a triple; Chavanne rbi single.  Dotson homered to open the Vols 2nd; Steinhardt relieved King; Huff doubled, Spigner single, Gibson sac fly; Burchell singled; Webb 3-run homer. 12-0.  Grieve and Taylor drove in the last two runs in the 3rd.  Tennessee 30-7.  Western Carolina 4-29.

WP Ivy Renfro 7K.  No hitter five innings.  LP Amber Steinhardt
Vols scored 4 in 1st, including Spigner 2 run single, Gibson rbi triple, Burchell rbi single. After Gibson singled in 2 runs in a 5-run 3rd, Monday relieved Steinhardt.  Gibson scored, sac fly, two runs scored on fielding error at 2nd.  WCU had 3 errors.  Two more runs in 4th; Gibson doubled.
