GAME NOTES
Virginia Tech 9, Liberty 0 (5)/perfect game for Jasmin Harrell/DH 4-3. The Hokies, whp closed out the regular season, scored 5 runs in the 1st in game one, then four in the 4th. Harrell (26-13) struck out 8 in the first perect game of her career. The Flames had a 3-1 lead in Game Two; in the 6th, Liddle walked and Mericka smacked a 2-run homer.In the 7th, pinch runner Laura Eolf scored the game winner on a single by McGoldrick.
Texas 7, Baylor 3. WP Blaire Luna. LP Courtney Repka. Trailing 3-2, the Horns racked 4 runs in the 6th, one in the 7th. Texas loaded the bases, no outs, bottom 1st; the run scored on Thurman’s sac fly. Texas took the lead, top 3rd; Runners at 2nd and 3rd, Bennett intentionally walked; Craig doubled in 2 runs. The Bears reclaimed the lead in the bottom on Hosack’s 2-run single. Top 6th, 2 out, Thom singled, Hoagland homered. Washington singled and scored on Bennett’s home run. Texas scored a final run in the 7th. Texas 40-8. Baylor 30-19.
Michigan 4, Eastern Michigan 2 (9). WP Haylie Wagner, LP Lauren Wells. Wolverines broke tie in 9th; Chidester waked; Drisenga homered.Wagner scored bottom 2nd for UM on Sweet single. EMU went ahead with2 runs top 5th on Tolliver’s 2-run homer. Michigan tied with a run in the bottomhalf; Evans scoring on Lane’s single. Michigan 34-15. Eastern Michigan 21-31.
Stanford 12, Santa Clara 1 (5). WP Teagan Gerhart. LP Carissa Theis. Cardinal scored 6 runs bottom 1st, on bases loaded rbi single by Rich; Burris 2 run single; Roulund 2-run double; Miller rbi double. In the 2nd, Roulund doubled, scored on Becerra single. Jepson scored top 3rd on for Santa Clara on Knight double. Cardinal came back with 5 runs; bases loaded, 2 runs scored on Burns single; Roulund jacked a 3-run homer. Stanford 33-16. Santa Clara 11-43.
