Tech led 1-0, bottom 2nd, Graham walked, scored on Cruz double.  Hokies 3rd: Hall led witha home run.  Liddle walked on 3-2 count, scored with two out on Ward’s double.  Jackson singled, top 4th, scored on Ahrberg single to put Seminoles on board.  Trailing 3-1, Florida State scored four runs top 7th.  Wynn, Brown singled, Jackson reached fielder’s choice, loading bases; with one out Ahrberg singled in 2 runs; Lapicki singled in 2 runs.  Harrell relieved Roark but damage was done.  Bottom 7th: Liddle doubled, but was stranded.

Bottom 1st: Kuzma hbp; Weseman homered.  Priebe walked, Rush homered.  4-0.  The Techsters closed with four in the 5th.  Weseman double, Priebe rbi single.  Rush walked; Jordan 3-run pinch-hit walkoff home run.  Rush was a walk and two errors from perfect game — without a strikeout. 

Georgia Tech will play Florida State at 1pm Sunday for the ACC championship.

The Minutewomen and the Rams chased each other all season, U Mass always a step ahead.  Not even two home runs by Erin Fisher (one a 2-run shot) could offset the power display by U Mass which clocked four dingers:  Magill a 2-run bomb, and solo shots by Reeves, Libby and Carta.

Sirus got the grip on the title with a 2-run homer, bottom 1st.  Lipscomb, which led the A-Sun all season, had 12 hits off Hamilton and Meredith.

The Orange made their first visit to the title game one for the books — the lowest seed to ever win the Big East.  Syracuse scored bottom 1st; Watts (hbp) scored on Kohl’s single.  In the 2nd, Saco reached on an infield single, Helman singled, went to 3rd on a fielder’s choice by Grant, and scored on a throwing error.  Top 3rd, Louisville scored, Roth drew a lead-off walk, advanced on Esteban’s single, and a fielder’s choice by Bemis, then scored on a wild pitch.  Tori Collins relieved Wadwell bottom 3rd.

Bama came in riding a 23-game winning streak; Dunne had won her last 13 starts.  Both streaks were extended in a game which saw power pitching, power hitting, and aggressive defense.  LSU starter Cody Trahan had trouble finding her spots, and Bama went up 3-0 bottom 1st.  Braud led with a single, stole 2nd, Boccia walked on a 3-2 count, Braud scored on a wild pitch.  Morgan singled, Larsen walked, Fico relieved Trahan.  Locke fanned, Lunceford reached on a fielder’s choice, but Boccia was out at home on a snap throw from Mouse at 3rd.  Blewitt singled, 2 rbi, both runs charged to Trahan.  Dawson forced Lunceford at 3rd.  Dunne, working high in the strike zone with her rise ball, struck out 2 more Tigers in the 2nd.  Bama stranded 2 in the bottom.  Dunne struck out 2 of 3 in the 3rd, but Fico put the Tide down in order.  LSU loaded the bases in the 4th.  Applegate singled, Mitchell reached on a sac bunt; Langoni fouled out, Young was hbp.
  But, Santos fouled out and Hollier struck out.  Bama scored bottom 4th on Fenton’s one-out homer. 4-0.  LSU tied the game top 5th.  With one out, Mouse singled; Shortridge hbp (which ricocheted and hurt the umpire); Applegate singled, advanced on an error by the center fielder, while Shortridge went to 3rd and Mouse scored.  Mitchell doubled, Applegate and Shortridge scored.    Young was hbp again, reloading the bases.  Santos reached on a fielder’s choice, Mitchell scored tying the game, but Langoni was out at 3rd, and Hollier struck out.  4-4.  Bama 5th: Larsen singled, but was out at 2nd on a nifty play by Langoni in left.  Locke flied out, but Lunceford hit a two-out homer, which proved to be the winning run.  Shortridge singled with two out in the 6th, but was called out for leaving early.  Although Dawson reached 1st after striking out (passed ball) to lead the Tide’s 6th, LSU suffered no damage.  LSU 7th: the Tigers went down in order.  Bama 48-9.  LSU 44-14.
SPY note: ESPN should take a lesson from Monday Night Football re a three-person booth.  Great camera work; enjoyed more with sound off.

Stanford scored single runs in the 1st and 2nd, but the Ducks took the lead with 3 runs in the 4th.  Chambers, Fuiava doubled, Howard homered.  The Cardinal scored 2 in the bottom; Becerra 2-run homer, Hansen rbi double.  After Sam Skillingstad relieved Moore, the Cardinal scored single runs in the 5th and 6th.  Stanford 36-17, 8-13.  Oregon 33-19, 8-13.

With the win, UCLA finishes second in the Pac 10, Arizona finishes third.
Wildcats took lead bottom 1st on Chambers’ 2-run triple.  UCLA took lead in 4th after a costly wild pitch error on strike three to Camuso kept the inning alive; Shull singled, Murray running for Camuso,  Bates walked, loading the bases, which DiSalvatore cleared.  3-2.  Top 6th: after an rbi single by Dolan, Langenfeld smacked a 2-run double. 6-2.  In the bottom, Lastrapes jacked a 2-run homer with one out, but UofA was held there.  UCLA 40-11, Arizona is 43-11.  With ace Kenzie Fowler sidelined with a shoulder problem, Sarah Akamine(12-5) got her second start, but had to leave with a knee problem and senior Ashley Ralston-Alvarez came in for her fifth appearance of the year. UCLA’s Megan Langenfeld (10-1) won in relief.
