Michigan 9, Eastern Michigan 7. The Wolverines staved off a late challenge. Top 1st, Richards singled, scored for EMU on Coquillard single. EMU enjoyed a brief 2-0 lead when Kostich opened the 2nd with a double, scored on Stanton single. Migan grabbed the lead with 5 runs, bottom 2nd. Shaw led with a double, one out, Doyle walked, Ewing singled, loading the bases; Sappingfield rbi single; Ryan reached on a fielder’s chmoice, rbi; Chidester jacked a 3-run homer. UM loaded the bases again in the 3rd, Shaw scored on Evans single, but UM stranded three. Wolverines added 2 in 4thon Lane homer. Wells relieved Ignowski. EMU got on the board, top 5th, on Coquillard’s 3-run homer. Top 6th: Speierman relieved Payne. Chidester scored the final Michigan run in the 6th on a sac fly by Blanchard. Top 7th: Delapaz walked, went to 2nd on a wild pitch, scored on Richards double; another wild pitch put Richards on 3rd; Richards scored on Coquillard’s sac fly.Scherer singled, but was stranded when Kostich struck out. Michigan 45-4. Eastern Michigan 23-14.
Notre Dame 10, Valparaiso 2 (6). Winter struck out the side top 1st. Bottom 1st: Clay on board with a single, two out, Miller slugged 2-run homer. After Miller struck out 2 top 3rd, Stuhr and Maldonado singled, advaanced on Clay sac, Johnson doubled in 2 runs. Jansen relieved McGee. Conner and Brown singled, top 4th, and scored on Brown single. Irish added two more in bottom on scores by Fleury and Jorgensborg. Notre Dame reached run-rule in the 6th with 4 runs. Stuhr jacked a 2-run homer; Maldonado singled, Clay walked, Johnson rbi single. Bolton relieved Jansen. Clay scored on Pitzenberger single. Notre Dame 39-8. Valparaiso 30-19-1.
BYU 11, Utah Valley 0. Messerschmidt, Fitu and Willard had 2 rbi’s each, home runs by Fitu and Willard. Utah Valley mad 4 errors.
Stanford 12, Santa Clara 0. Stanford scored 3 in 1st on Van Zandt’s 2-run double, Miller rbi single. Cardinal loaded bases in 2nd; scored when Miller drew rbi walk. Stanford loaded bases again in 5-run 3rd. Hansen rbi single, Chinn scored on wild pitch, Rich slugged 3-run homer. Hansen doubled in 2 runs in 4th. Rich walked — and Gametracker froze.
