SC Athletics 8, TX Eclipse 0.  Winning pitcher: 2013 Delanie Gourley (Florida).

RI Thunder 5, AZ Hotshots 3.  Winning pitcher Meghan Rico (2012 George Washington).  Thunder scored 4 runs, top 1st, a 2-run hit by 2013 Lindsay Mayer, who scored on an rbi hit by 2014 Brittany McNulla; and 2013 Brittany Mitchell’s rbi.  2013 Valerie Kaff came on in relief and quieted Thunder.  Rico had a rough first inning.  Shea Palmer reached on Rico’s error. 2013 Jackie Hernandez brought in a run with a double to center,and scored on a triple by 2012 Erin Satterfield, who scored to narrow the margin to 4-3.  Thunder added a run in the 3rd when Mayer drove in 2012 Briana Chiusano.

Of special interest to Spy was the return of 3rd baseman Elise Fortier, who was a standout in this tournament in previous years; Elise, who is transferring from Stony Brook but has not yet reached a decision on another school, made key plays at 3rd.

So Cal Choppers 4, RI Thunder 0.  2011 Justine Vela (UC Davis) pitched the shutout.  Catcher Karlie Habitz (2012 Penn State) crushed a 3-run home run.
