Ninth-annual Border Battle kicks off today at USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex

 

OKLAHOMA CITY — A total of 10 teams are set to take the field to compete in the ninth-annual Border Battle this weekend, USA Softball announced today.  With 21 games to be played at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex – OGE Energy Field, Border Battle will feature round-robin games involving the USA Softball Men’s and Women’s Slow Pitch National Teams, the USA Softball Men’s Futures Slow Pitch National Team, Canada’s Men’s and Women’s Slow Pitch National Teams and several USA Softball-registered men’s and women’s teams.  General admission all-session and single-session tickets are available at the ticket booth outside the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex.

 

Highlighted by events such as Military Appreciation Day, League Night and Legends of the Game, special activities highlight each day of the Border Battle while groups of 10 or more can receive special pricing. The three-day event will be highlighted by the Men’s Border Battle IX, where Team USA will face Canada and look to keep Border Battle bragging rights on July 1 at 8 p.m.  In addition to the featured Border Battle game, the USA Softball Men’s Slow Pitch National Team and the USA Softball Men’s Futures Slow Pitch National Team will also be competing in Oklahoma City in the Slow Pitch Showdown on Friday, June 30. Newly introduced to the action-packed lineup at Border Battle IX this year is a Women’s Border Battle game, which will feature the inaugural USA Softball Women’s Slow Pitch National Team who will take the field against Team Canada on July 1 at 6:30 p.m.

The inaugural “Bash at the Border Battle”, which will take place simultaneously with Border Battle IX, features teams within the USA Softball Super Slow Pitch and Class A Slow Pitch divisions and includes ASP/KV Weld/A&A Utility/OA Labs, ASP Plumbing Services/Monsta, OC, The Crew, TPC/Boompas Burgers and WC Monsta.  The teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket to determine who will play in the Championship Game.
