2017 USA Softball Women’s National Team Pan American Games/World Championship Qualifier roster named
OKLAHOMA CITY – The final 15-player roster for the 2017 USA Softball Women’s National Team (WNT) Pan American Championship was announced today by USA Softball. Athletes selected will compete in the Pan American Championship August 4-13 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in which the top five finishing countries will qualify for the 2018 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s World Championship and the 2019 Pan American Games.
While the complete game schedule for the Pan American Championship will be announced at a later date, competing countries include: Argentina, Aruba, Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Cuba, Curacao, El Salvador, Guatemala, Turks and Caicos Islands, British Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Pero, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Venezuela. The United States will need to finish in the top five in order to qualify for both the 2018 WBSC Women’s World Championship, which will be held in Chiba, Japan, and the 2019 Pan American Games, which will be held in Lima, Peru.
