UMBC Softball Announces 2008 Winter Clinics
UMBC Head softball Coach Joe French will host two winter indoor clinics at
the beginning of 2008.
French will direct his annual winter clinics on Saturday February 2, and
Saturday February 9, 2008 from 9am-1pm at the RAC Fieldhouse. The
sessions will cover hitting, pitching and defense.
The clinics are offered for girls 8-18. Interested participants are
encouraged to sign up quickly as spots are filled on a first-come,
first-serve basis. Walk-up registration will be held 30 minutes prior to
the scheduled start time.
Each clinic costs $55, but special rates are available for attending
multiple sessions. Please go to http://www.umbcretrievers.com and click
on softball to download a flyer. The clinics will be conducted by
French, his staff and UMBC players.
French led his team to a 2nd place regular season finish and to the
America East Conference Championship finals last year. He is UMBC'S
all-time win leader with 214 wins in 6 seasons. This year's team also
boasts a very talented roster that garners 13 of 17 players from Maryland
and/or the surrounding area and should again contend for the America East
Conference title.
For additional information, contact Coach French at 410-455-1325 or
jfrench@umbc.edu, and Assistant Coach Wayne Miller at wmiller@umbc.edu or
443-791-9223
Checks should be made payable to UMBC Softball Foundation, Inc., and
mailed along with your flyer to Joe French UMBC Softball, 1000 Hilltop
