WELCOME BACK MATTHEW
One of my most vivid memories of the early days of watching West Coast softball was seeing my daughter play against Matt Giordano’s 14U team. What a powerhouse – Natalie Golda, Phalen Wright, Keira Goerl, a player in left field who gave speed a new definition, and more. All dressed in black; scared the hell out of other teams. I recall a game when Matt was on crutches; moved faster at 3rd than I did. Now, I just got a report from another coach: “Saw Matt Giardino's new OC Athletics 18 gold team today. It was their first games. About 7 slappers; a power hitting catcher he got into LMU this week and another great teamamate committed to going to LMU with her. He's only been back a couple months. I think he might surprise people.”
