CAROLYN SHAFER

Carolyn Shafer the head of the Broken Arrow Girls Softball Federation that runs Arrowhead Park (home of the 2002 gold) was one of the people involved in the Octoberfest tent disaster Wednesday night. She took the brunt of the wind's effects, since she was literally underneath the sound equipment after the wind grabbed it. Shafer is undergoing surgery for what the local papers in Oklahoma report as very serious injuries. Her daughter, Julie, was an All-Stater who attended and graduated from TU.  She and her colleagues were great hosts in 2002.  No flowers but cards will be appreciated.  Messages are pouring in from the softball community.
