Commitments (of another kind)

Jennie Finch is engaged to Casey Daigle, a very lucky guy.

It seems only yesterday we were watching a tall, gangly kid playing 14U at a nationals which produced a number of today’s college and international stars.  We’ve cheered for Jennie through all the intervening years, the national and international championships, the personal records set at Arizona – a nice kid who became a very nice, lovely young lady.

Jennie, all the best to you and Casey.

Humor

(reader Jack Eneix sent along this guaranteed laugher)

According to an internet survey done recently the following is judged to be
the funniest joke ever written or told.

Two buddies go deer hunting . One of the men collapses, quits breathing and
his eyes roll back into his head.  His friend dials 911 and gets the operator.
Help he says, I think my friend has collapsed and died-what do I do?

Operator says are you sure he is dead and the man answers pretty sure.
Operator tells him you have to make sure he is dead before we proceed
The man tells her ok. Around 30 seconds passes and the operator suddenly
hears a gunshot thru the phone.

The man gets back on the line and says ok what's next!

(Good, but lots of readers liked “Cheerios” and “Talking Pig.”)
