Junior Women’s National Team

On Tuesday at 10am CST, ASA will release the names of the team selected to play December in the ISF qualifier in Mexico. SPY will publish the list when released, along with SPY notes from the tryouts this past weekend in Chula Vista.

Batbuster Tournament

In a separate story, SPY publishes its game notes from the tournament held this past weekend, under the sponsorship of the OC Batbusters (Davis). The Worth Firecrackers and Southern California Athletics were at the top of the winners’ bracket when the tournament ended. That field brought back memories; I used to take Allison out to CA each winter to play for Bill Smith’s Firecrackers, and she played at that complex.

Welcome Home, Shealee

When the So Cal Athletics took the field, a very familiar face was coaching first base. Shealee Dunavan, who played for the Athletics before starring at Michigan State -–where she was an All American – is coaching and also taking classes at Fullerton, preparing for a teaching/coaching career. Every aspiring outfielder can learn from Shealee.
