Orange County Lionettes
The Orange County Lionettes 18 Gold were undefeated at the Batbuster
Showcase Tournament in Tustin last weekend. None of the 5 teams scored
against the newly formed team. The scores were American A’s 5-0);
West Bay Nuggets (3-0), Stiggy's Sport Shop (2-0); Sudden Impact (3-0); San
Diego Lightning (2-0). Sophomore Lori Gilbert picked up the win in game 1.
Senior Emily Hively (uncommitted) picked up the wins in games 2, 3, and 5.
Senior Caroline Blood got the win in game 4. Junior Kylene Kennedy pitching
in games 2 and 4. Senior Natalie Kula (uncommitted) playing third base in
the last game made a great play when she dove to catch a bunted pop fly by
home plate, the got to her feet and threw out the batter at first for the
double play.
Firecrackers
The Firecrackers won 3 games Saturday, then had a loss and a tie on Sunday.
Kristen Dedmon pitched a 6-1 win over Case Batbusters. Tracy Cook hurled the 11-0 defeat of Northwest Outlaws. Kady Garrick pitched a perfect game as they defeated Salinas Wildcats 9-0. Saturday’s 26-1 edge was in contrast to Sunday when American Pastime won 2-0 over Dedmon. Finally, the RBI Monarchs played to a 2-2 tie, with Tracy Cook on the mound for the Firecrackers.
