Washington Keeps Hold on Top Ranking in USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Poll
March 16, 2010
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Another perfect week kept Washington atop of the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Poll as the unanimous No. 1 team in the country for the third consecutive week. The Huskies have been the top choice in all six polls this year, including the preseason poll, and have received all 30 first-place votes in five of those six polls.
Arizona and Missouri stayed put at second and third, respectively, this week, while Michigan moved up one spot from fifth to fourth. UCLA rounded out the top five by jumping from seventh to fifth, forcing Florida down to sixth.
While some teams moved up and down, for the first time this season no teams dropped out or moved into the poll.
The USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll is voted on by NCAA Division I head coaches, one representing each conference. 2010 records are shown, first-place votes are in parentheses.
The next USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 poll will be released Tuesday, March 16.
