Training Team, they do remain in the player pool and could be invited back to

As the National Governing Body, the ASA is responsible for identifying,
selecting and training male and female athletes to compete in World, Pan
American and Olympic competitions. In addition to those duties, the ASA conducts
the only recognized National Championship competitions in the
SPY NOTE: The training team consists of 16 players from the 2002 USA National Team (Michele Smith retired) which won the 2002 World Championship, as well as the US Cup, Canada Cup and Japan Cup -- and 6 players from the 2002 USA Elite Team: Addison, Bustos, Dale, Gardner, Osterman and Vandergeest.
